Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
FinancePublish is in beta — this policy may be updated as the product evolves.
This Privacy Policy describes how FinancePublish Company ("we," "us," or "FinancePublish") collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the FinancePublish publish-and-share platform (the "Service").
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you're invited to join an organization's account, we collect your name, work email address, and organization name.
- Published content. Files, pasted HTML or markdown, and related metadata (titles, display settings, access controls) that an account holder uploads or creates.
- Viewer and visitor information. When an account holder enables an optional lead-capture banner or visitor comments on a published link, we collect whatever information a visitor voluntarily submits — typically name, email, phone number, and company. These visitors are generally the account holder's own customers or contacts, not our direct customers; see "Visitor and End-Customer Data" below.
- Analytics and device data. When a published link is viewed, we automatically record the time of the view, basic device information, and whether the visit appears to be automated (bot) traffic.
- Prospective customer information. When you submit a request-access form on our site, we collect your name, work email, company name, website, and stated use case to evaluate the request.
- Authentication data. We use passwordless, magic-link sign-in and, for owner/admin accounts, mandatory two-factor authentication (TOTP) — we never store a reusable password for an account holder. If an account holder sets a password on a specific publication, we store only a salted cryptographic hash of it, never the plaintext.
How We Use Information
- To operate the Service — hosting and serving published content, authenticating account holders, and delivering emails such as invitations and account notices.
- To maintain security — rate limiting, audit logging, and abuse/fraud prevention.
- To communicate with account holders about their account, trial status, or support requests.
- To generate analytics shown back to an account holder about their own published content (e.g. view counts).
- To evaluate and respond to access requests from prospective customers.
Visitor and End-Customer Data
When an account holder enables lead capture or visitor comments on a published link, FinancePublish processes personal information about that account holder's own visitors or end-customers on the account holder's behalf. In that relationship, the account holder is responsible for having a lawful basis to collect that information and for their own compliance obligations toward their own visitors — including under applicable law such as Canada's PIPEDA or other privacy laws that may apply depending on where those visitors are located. FinancePublish acts as a service provider processing this data to operate the Service, not as the party that decided to collect it.
Cookies and Session Data
- A session cookie that keeps an account holder signed in.
- An access cookie, scoped to a specific password-protected published link, so a visitor doesn't have to re-enter a password repeatedly during one visit.
- No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
Data Retention
Account and published content is retained while an account is active. Prior versions of replaced content are retained to support the Service's version-restore feature. Following account cancellation, we delete or anonymize account data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it by law or for legitimate business records (such as billing history).
Data Security
We use row-level security enforced at the database layer (not just the application), encrypted connections, rate limiting on public-facing forms, mandatory two-factor authentication for owner/admin accounts, and audit logging of administrative actions.
Your Rights and Choices
Account holders may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their account information by contacting us at the address below. If you're a visitor who submitted information through a lead-capture banner or comment on a published link, that content is controlled by the organization that published the link — please contact them directly; we can assist that organization with such a request if asked.
International Data Transfers
FinancePublish is operated from Canada, and your data is hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal).
